- How can I make a Cookie Monster costume for Halloween?
I am 18 and want to be Cookie Monster for Halloween. How would I go about this?

A Buy blue pants, tee, and everything! Then get fabric fur that's blue sew that on. then get a cookie iron on to iron on your clothes... (buy more than one) Wear red lipstick. You can spice it up a bit by wearing short shorts and or a belly shirt... Good luck! Hope this helps! -kookoohut

- How can I realistically tear my clothes for my zombie costume?
I'm working on a zombie costume, and I want the sleeves on my jacket, the my pant legs to be shredded pretty good. How can I do this without it looking like a fringe, which is what usually happens when you just cut it.

A Make a small incision in the fabric an then rip it with your hands. This way the cuts will not look too clean. For zombie-ness you definitely want strips of ripped clothing dangling too (i.e. not just horizontal rips!!). Good luck!

A Not a lot of tandem costumes out there, but if you get a big enough coat you can both keep one arm in and one arm out. Is there a big-and-tall store near you?

A You can buy black warm up pants and warm up top and paint with white the bones on the front and back.

I just got the memo and apparently they're too scary. "Students who do not comply with the new costume policy will continue academic instruction in the library with the school librarian" They also advice parents to keep the costumes "simple" because students will have to change to their college attire. (I swear it says college, I'm starting to think the person who wrote this is an idiot lol) The parade is for students only and parents are not invited until the afterschool parade, how do the expect a bunch of kids to be able to take off costumes that are pretty difficult to put on in the first place? My daughter IS going to be a witch. Now for a PQ - Suppose you bought your kid one of the above costumes before you got the memo, what would you do? A. Try to exchange it for something they can wear? (can't change my daughters, we made it) B. Buy a new one. C.Send them to school with their original costume and take the risk of them being sent to the library D. Call the school principal and give her a piece of your mind E. Other Pdooma it isn't a "personal political point with the school" really it's not. I will have to go out and buy one if I need too. My 6 year old has spent hours tying yard after yard of tulle to make the "prettiest" witch costume for the school parade. All for nothing.

A I think I would call the school and complain. I think it's far more offensive to have a child dressed up in something obscene than it is to have a child dressed up in something "scary". A six year old dressing up as Hannah Montana in a mini skirt, half a top and two pounds of make up to me is far more offensive to me than a kid in a scary witch costume. I think that I would call the teacher and let her know that the costume was home made and that it was made months ago and if they were going to restrict costumes it should have been done far more than a week in advance. And while you don't want your child excluded from the festivities...it appears she will be either way...NO costume at all...or with a costume that will get her booted. In either case, the memo came far too late and an exception needs to be made because of their lack of timing and consideration. FIRST D. I would call and talk to someone SECOND A.If that didn't appear to do any good, I might try to modify the costume so that it's in compliance. THIRD E. Name it something else and get them on a technicality? ex - "It's not a witch, it's a sorceress costume" "I'm dressed up as a Mother In Law" "This isn't a witch costume, I'm a school Principal"

my son went as barack obama for halloween. once he walked around the block everyone started running away screaming at the top of their lungs he rang one of the neighbors doorbells and the man opened the door and said " AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! HERE TAKE MY CANDY PLEASE DONT HURT ME!!!!!!!" and then the man ran out of his house trying to protect his wallet from being stolen and then he cancled all of his credit cards immediatly. my son ended up getting the most candy since either they ran away when he rang the doorbell or they passed out and fainted from the horrible sight. did my son dress up too scary?
