- Whats the best way to make a monster costume ?
I'm looking to make a monster costume (similar to the old school sci-fi monsters and the kaiju movies monsters) and I'm not sure how to go about making one. I would like it to look fairly professional and not just made of of cardboard and spray paint, so any website links or explanations on how they make such costumes would be greatly appreciated.
A try to be like a blob monster or something so you can just like roll yourself in fabric or a bunch of glue with like a crap load of sparkel;s on you lol try something simple but convincing. Maybe some one in your life will have some sewing patters and mold them to fit what you are making

Im 11 and i wanna be cookie monster for the halloween dance and so im gonna make a costume. how do i make it? ^__^
A Either wear all blue and buy a blue beanie. Buy large googly eyes, craft foam circles (in black and white and create an eye) or black and white felt, cut those into eyes and hot glue them together. I suggest cutting a four inch circle in white and a two inch circle in black and gluing them together. Then hot glue the eyes to the blue beanie. If you can't find a blue beanie buy a white one and buy it blue. Or buy a blue hooded jacket that touches the forehead and glue the eyes on the front of the hood.

A A little gangsta cookie monster. ;) You shall need : A blue hoodie/jacket whatever you call it Sharpie or a different permanent marker Blue pants Blue shoes A white shirt An orange/red shirt Blue Fuzzy sitcks/strings Blue strings/sticks Directions :D?: Ok so to make the eyes cut 2 circles out of the white shirt and add 2 dots with the black markers and glue it or sew it on to the blue hoodie/jacket Get the orange/red shirt and cut the mouth and glue it or sew it on the blue hoodie/jacket Then just put on the blue clothing You can sew the fuzzy stuff on all over the costume.

I'm thinking of being Boo (the little girl from Monster's Inc). Any suggestions on how I can make the costume. I was thinking shower mats for the arms and legs, mop for the hair, some sort of round plastic for the eyes, but I'm not sure how to make the actual 'body' of the costume. Are there even sewing patterns out there for it? Since the character's name is Boo, it's not easy to do a Google Image Search to see what others have done. Thanks. If you can't find an exact costume of Boo, you can probably find something similar to modify. When you're at the fabric store, make sure you check out the clearence fabrics. You don't want your costume to be too costly. I bought a yard of burlap to make a hat for my sons pumpkin monster costume, I just don't know where to begin and I'm having a hard time finding a pattern. Any suggestions? I had planned to just buy a hat but I couldn't find any cheap enough and the burlap only cost me $2.50 I also tried looking at a couple of thrift stores.. no luck. I'll figure something out.
A yikes, i would just buy a straw hat and cut holes in it, the patch the holes with bright colored patches of old clothes or your burlap.
